Honda has earned a point over all other manufacturers of environment friendly cars by pioneering the manufacture of a hydrogen fuel cell car. Honda will start producing world’s first and foremost environment friendly car running on hydrogen fuel cell by next year. The hydrogen fuel car has speed limit of 100 mph with an estimated traveling distance of 270 miles. The car will be producing the by product of water vapor only from its exhaust. The approximate cost of Honda’s hydrogen car will be £50,000 and it will be made available only in Japan and America in initial stages. Honda’s hydrogen car has made an exciting debut at Los Angeles Auto Show in Nov 2007. The design of this car resembles that of the FCX Concept car. The cabin has a futuristic look with enough space for seating four persons. A range meter will be replacing the fuel gauge and it will help in telling the distance a person can travel with the quantity of hydrogen that is remaining in the tank. The car is fitted with lithium ion Batteries for recovering the energy consumed during braking. The hydrogen car will have a gearless transmission so that one has to do simple selection of drive or neutral. Honda’s Hydrogen Car is a path breaking landmark in the field of eco-motoring and the drivers can look forward to smooth, noiseless rides along with zero emissions. The Hydrogen Car is known as FCX Clarity and will be on retail sale at California which has the facility of hydrogen fuelling stations.
