Audi has launched the picture of its new Q5 4x4. The picture was revealed at the Los Angeles motor show. The picture boasts of a Cross Cabriolet car that only goes on to show how Land Rover Freelander and BMWX3, both of which are Audi’s rival will look.

The car is all set to go up for sale in the year 2008. The car is based on the A4 and A5 models of Audi which will be powered by 3.0 – litre V6 diesel. According to Audi, this is the cleanest diesel in the world. This diesel has additives that break down the nitrogen oxide (NOX) which is a harmful gas. Thus, the fuel helps to meet the new standards according to the new Euro VI emission requirements, which are supposed to be met only by 2014.

However, the company said that it plans to start the production of the technology by next year itself. It also said that it would so ahead and use it in it range of diesel models. However, according to sources, initially, the technology is expected to reach the markets in North America only.

It has a 396 lb ft pulling power and 240 bhp. Thus, the Cross Cabriolet can achieve a 0-62 mph in 7.2 seconds only. The car is expected to give a 39mpg of an average fuel economy. The engine has a semi – automatic box and drives with an 8 speed gear box that is automatic.

Besides this, there are several features that the car has that make it a great option for consumers.
